Fr.
Jeff's Monthly Stewardship Newsletter
August 30, 2011
Once
again summer has gone by too quickly. I am, as many
of you know, not a fan of "hot" weather,
but this year I was counting on the season lasting
just a little bit longer. Moving from two parishes
to three was the challenge this summertime. Changing
residences was also a chore which has yet to be completed.
Fr. Thomas, not a fan of collecting anywhere near the
possessions I have, has been settled for a couple of
weeks already. Oh well, that'll teach me to stop collecting
so much stuff over the years.
Our biggest change as a parish has certainly been
the winter mass time of 11:00 a.m. As a preliminary
report, I think that we can say that attendance has
been a bout the same as before. We often see folks
from the other two parishes, especially at the earlier
time. We hope that continues. It is our desire that
everyone feel at home in each of the churches as we
watch what develops with the schedule over the next
number of months.
We also want to remind you that these changes, while
we envision them as permanent, might need to be finessed
a bit as time goes by. We certainly want to offer the
best kind of atmosphere for the greatest number of
our parishioners, and we will revisit the decision
after enough time has passed to make a complete study
of the issue.
Another
part of our evaluation process is to once again go
through our parish roster. If we have not heard from
you in a while, you will be contacted by man or by
phone over the next year to ask if you wish to continue
your membership in the parish. There are many ways
to be a member, and there are lots of circumstances
that reflect different kinds of membership. Rest assured,
if you don't hear from us, we have not changed your
member status and all will continue as usual. You do
NOT need to contact the parish office unless you wish
to initiate a change from your end. These kinds of
changes would include moving out of the parish, or
updating your family to reflect older children away
at college or family members moving from your household
who were considered members. If you have any questions,
please call on any of us and we will clear them up
as soon as we are able. Thank you again for your patience
and your support especially during these summer months.
Your feedback is always welcome and certainly appreciated.
PEACE,
Fr. Jeff
