Dear Friends:
What fantastic weather
for a Parish Festival we had! God surely blessed us not only with picture
perfect weather, but also with a dedicated leadership team and an army of
sweltering volunteers. Anne Klug, Harry Farchmin, Dale, Mary and Angie Kochanik
again coordinated the effort. Attendance reached a new high mark. Also thanks
to all who contributed the many prizes and manned the booths. We will shortly
have a report on the financial results.
Christian
formation sessions for young and the “older” have ended for the
summer months. Thanks to Jan Grosschadl and her assisting catechists and presenters
both in the “Gift” and
High School Program. Let’s give four stars to Dennis Jablonski for
his culinary offerings for the “Gift” sessions. Watch for
announcements from Kathy Smith regarding summer Adult Formation offerings.
On
Pentecost Sunday Joyce Jakubowski attended the Archdiocesan celebration of
the “Faith in Our
Future” appeal at the Cathedral. The mass commemorated the completion
of the first year devoted to pledging. There are still two years left on
our pledges. Remember, 60% goes to the Parish, 40% to the education ministries
of the Archdiocese. As of May 19, our Parish has received $46,590.86 as its
share of your contributions. Consequently, we were able to complete our first
of the three goals, namely the re-roofing of the church/school building.
We are now are building the fund for the Church entrance drive-through canopy.
Thanks for your diligent following through on your pledges.
