December 27, 2009 – Feast
of the Holy Family

Dear Friends and members of the “IHM Holy Family”:
This past weekend we celebrated the feasts of Christmas and the Holy Family
with very moving liturgies and in spite of the weather, deep participation
by all attending the masses. It was good to see so many new faces and guests.
Please encourage them to join us for all our liturgies throughout the year
when possible. By the way, we on the Parish Staff thank you for your kind
cards and gifts. You are in our prayers.
Your Christmas outreach to those in need has been awesome! You generously
poured out your hearts with gifts “locally” (Guest House, Hope
House, St. Vincent de Paul, St. Ben’s Meal, our Food Pantry and the Adult
Learning Center) and “globally” (the Nutrition Center as Sagrada
Familia parish in the Dominican Republic). Thanks to all who labored to get
the gifts to the recipients. May the lights on the “Giving Tree” this
season remind us to continue sharing God’s blessings.
We thank you for your stewardship to the parish in the past year. Our current
pledge drive for 2010 continues with enthusiastic responses. Please send in
your pledge card if it is still at home with you. We thank the “anonymous” donor
who stopped in last week and gifted the parish with $3000 in thanksgiving for
the education he received years ago in our Grade School.
On December 4, Bishop Callahan wrote me and extended my term of Pastor here
until June 30, 2011.
I look forward to our continued shared ministry.
Peace!
